February 12, 2007 Minutes
A regular meeting of the Columbia Riding Club board of directors
was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2007, at
Hot Z's Pizza. Vice President Anita Butler was the chair, and four
board members were present. They included Steve Vrabel, Heather
Anderson, Pat Hill, Anita Butler, and Diane Reese.
Minutes of the January meeting were read and approved after
correction by Steve Vrabel to change the entry fee of the Wednesday
night pleasure shows from $6. to $5.
A treasurer's report was given by Pat Hill. She reported ribbons
were purchased for the upcoming show season at a cost of $1,895.22.
This represents a 10% saving for early order. There is a balance on
hand of $7,332.28.
Heather Anderson reported she purchased new padlocks for the
ring gates and cabinets in the secretary's stand. Keys were handed
to board members present.
Steve reported that a group checked the club grounds for a place
to build a trail course. Heather distributed maps of the grounds as
an aid for the discussion. Two areas near the upper ring were
preferred. Heather reported Amanda Reed offered to have her
boyfriend build the ring but Amanda feels his friend Neal may be
better qualified to do the work. It was suggested to get a price
for having the work done, and then proceed from there.
It was decided to have Heather call County Line Quarry to
deliver a load of footing for the lower ring.
Heather is going to send all the updated information to Mary
Glazier so Mary can update the website and send a newsletter. We
discussed what information we will want to have for a show book for
the upcoming season.
The fall hunter show was moved to September 16. Mary Glazier
offered to chair that show. We went through the entire show season
for the year, discussing chairs for each show.
Heather will check on trophies with Mary Glazier. She will ask
Amanda to run the Fall Festival on September 16. We still need a
chair for July 8. Pat volunteered for June 10.
Heather volunteered to put and ad with the shows similar to last
year in the "Paper Horse" for April.
A spring clean-up was tentatively scheduled for April 14 at 10
a.m.
A move to adjourn was made by Heather.
