April 9, 2007 Minutes
A regular meeting of the Columbia Riding Club board of directors
was called to order by President Mark Anderson at 7:30p.m. on
Monday, April 9, 2007 at Hot Z's Pizza. Six
board members present included Dick Getz, Amanda Reed, Heather
Anderson, Steve Vrabel, Pat Hill, and Diane Reese.
The minutes of the March meeting were read and approved. The
treasurer's report was given by Pat Hill. She
reported a balance of $7,858 and the ribbons for the upcoming show
season were delivered.
Grounds
Steve reported the tractor was serviced and they will send an
invoice. We will be spraying for weeds around the lower ring. A
spring clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, April 14. Terri Vrabel
will have her 4-H group help. Pat will check if the water was
turned on as it was scheduled for April 1.
Membership
I reported a total of about 10 renewals for 2007.
Ways and Means
We need to send membership forms along with a newsletter to all
2006 members. Heather reported on footing in the lower ring. We
will check on prices for both washed screenings and sand in order
to make a decision. We also need to purchase a harrow. Pat reported
on a harrow on sale at Tractor Supply.
Horse Shows
Heather reported Montie Eagle will be giving hour private
lessons on April 29. She will take six riders at a cost of $40 for
members, $45 for non members.
We discussed the ad in the Paper Horse. It was in the April
issue and will run through the summer. Judges contracts were
mailed, and some have been returned. Bill Reynolds was contacted
for all show dates to run the kitchen.
Deb Schuch cannot run the June show due to problems at her farm.
She offered building materials to the club for any projects. Pat
and Dave Hill and I offered to help at the show.
Steve motioned to adjourn and Amanda seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 8:25.
Respectfully submitted,
Diane L. Reese
