May 14, 2007 Minutes
A regular meeting of the Columbia Riding Club Board of Directors
was called to order by President Mark Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on
Monday, May 14, 2007 at the club. Five board members and two guests
were present. The board members included Dick Getz, Steve Vrabel,
Pat Hill, Anita Butler and Diane Reese.
The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. A
treasurer’s report was given by Pat Hill who reported a balance of
$9,105.13 that included a profit of $528.50 from our April 28
show.
Grounds
It was reported that the clean-up was successful. We had
plumbing problems after the water was turned on that included three
major leaks in the clubhouse. Dick had a plumber fix the problems
and so far everything is fine.
The Horse-n-Around 4H painted the jumps and Mark fixed the tires
on the jump wagon with fix-a-flat.
Steve reported we threw out a lot of junk due the the flooding
in the clubhouse. Things have also been moved in there to improve
the appearance.
The person doing the mowing has not been showing up so Steve has
his daughter Sarah mowing until we find somebody.
We will have Deb Jeffries check on purchasing jump rails and a
brush box since we need these for our upcoming show season.
Membership
Diane reported that since membership forms were sent out many
had returned them and we have about 38 paid so far this year.
Ways and Means
No report
Show Committee
Mark reported that the show booklets are done and for the first
year seem to be a success. Anita changed the date of her gaming
show from June 6 to the 13th. There was a discussion
concerning gaming year and awards and this will be decided at a
later date.
Old Business
Steve asked the status of the bleachers and it was decided to
have Mark check on purchasing some.
Pat motioned to adjourn and Steve seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 8:10.
Respectfully submitted
