August 13, 2007 Minutes
A regular meeting of the Columbia Riding Club Board of Directors
was called to order by President Mark Anderson at 7:20 p.m. on
Monday, August 13, 2007 at the club. Six board members present
included Pat Hill, Dick Getz, Diane Reese, Amanda Reed, and Mark
and Heather Anderson
The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved. A
treasurer's report was given by Pat Hill who reported an
approximate balance of $13,000. She also reported approximate
profits of $1,107 for the jumping show, $394 for the Wednesday
night show and $1343 for yesterday's Sunday show. It was motioned
and seconded to accept the treasurer's report.
Grounds
The tractor needed repairs earlier this month and will cost
around $600. Also, we need to repair wet spots in the rings, three
in the lower ring and one large one in the upper ring. We took a
look at the lower ring and Amanda will get prices on repair to all
four areas. Heather reported that Deb Jefferies is checking on an
additive to the footing in the upper ring to ease the dust
problem.
Dick said the plumber turned off the water valve in the
clubhouse due to a leak in the hot water heater. There was no water
in the kitchen at last Wednesday's show.
Membership
Diane reported there are 65 members this year with two being
added on Sunday making a total of 67.
Ways and Means
Mark reported that Steve suggested we have trees planted and
donated, perhaps in memory of former members. Diane will look into
inviting David Day to a meeting to give us a price on planting
trees.
Horse Show Committee
No report
Old Business
Three board members are going off this year. We will look for
new board members with the elections approaching in November.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted
Diane L. Reese
