Treasurer's Report
Was Reported by Steve
Grounds
Steve reported the tractor is still at Hollinger's for service. . The spring clean-up is set for April 4. Because the Vrabel's and Fry's will be out of town that day, they volunteered to work alternate weekends to get the job done. A list of things that need accomplished will be made.
Ways and Means
Kathy Bowman made information sheets for the Community day set for April 18. She has various activities planned for the day, including kid's games and a blacksmith demo. There will be a stick horse class for which $1.00 and a canned good will be charged; all proceeds are going to the food bank. Also, the Lancaster city mounted police will do a demo and Julie Good will give a clinic. Heather reported that last year's caterer is only available for four shows this year. Steve McFalls offered to inquire at his work for caterers and the Vrabel's will also look into possibilities. Christina suggested we sell gift certificates at the secretary's stand at the shows. They can be pre-printed with our logo and address. After a discussion concerning how to refund monies not used with the certificates, it was decided to table this until a later date.
Membership
We received 11 at this meeting for a total of 13 for the year.
Horse Show Committee
The "Paper Horse" called to see if we want to do an ad for their April edition, but because of date restrictions, we will only be able to put in our activity dates. We will run a full page ad for their May edition. Also, judges are needed need for the June 14 hunter show and the Wednesday, July 22 show. Christina will check with Pat Hill on the status of the reining clinic. There will be a show committee meeting March 21 at 10 am at the club.
Old Business
Kathy Bowman asked for a listing of our activities to handout at Community day. Christina will have it available for the next meeting. There was also a discussion on the number of books to make for the show season.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 13 at Hot Z's.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm
