December 2009 Minutes

A regular meeting of the Columbia Riding Club Board of Directors was called to order by President Steve Vrabel on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7:20 pm at Hot Z's Pizza. Nine board members present included Heather and Mark Anderson, Christina Fry, Dick Getz, Pat Hill, Amanda Reed, Diane Reese, Brent Talbot, and Steve Vrabel There were also two other members in attendance.

The minutes from the November meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report

Membership

Christina reported the 2010 form will be posted on the website by the beginning of 2010.

Buildings and Grounds

Work needs done in both bathrooms, including replacing some toilet seats and painting the floors. We will put this off until warmer weather in spring. Steve drained the pipes and put antifreeze in them. The gutters still need cleaned. Brent put fall weed and feed on the lower ring and the surrounding area.

Ways and Means

Christina stated a $2.00 grounds fee per horse will be charged for the next show season. Exhibitors will still need to sign up for year end awards but there will not be a charge. A silent auction is planned.

Horse Show Committee

An open / AQHA novice show will be added to the schedule. Christina suggested we join the SVHSA (Susquehanna Valley Horse Show Association) at a cost of $50 per year, and then add one or more of our shows to their line-up.

Old Business

Memberships were increased $5.00 across the board for 2010. The election of board members resulted in the new members of Mark Anderson, Kelley Livelsberger, and Amanda Reed.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 11, at 7 p.m. at Hot Z's Pizza. It will feature election of 2010 officers.
