Pat reported on current balance.

Membership

We currently have 91 members.

Buildings and Grounds

Steve reported most of the mowing is being done by Chad Thoman. The water truck had a dead battery Sunday when Steve tried to use it the third time. He will have this taken care of. The parking situation was discussed. Several ideas were suggested to keep cars from parking in shaded areas during the shows so that shade can be reserved for horses. The roof has not been repaired. The upper ring fence will soon need repaired or replaced. The round table in the upper secretary stand needs replaced. Christina reported we may have a fire company that will water the rings if we make a one time donation each year. They will need notice of when they are needed and also clearance from another fire company.

Horse Show Committee

Amanda reported we have a list of judges and their fees on a cabinet door in the secretary stand. Amanda will send an e mail update to the members. Terri Vrabel suggested she include asking for help for the shows. Amanda has year end awards and class entry totals tabulated on spreadsheets so we can track which classes are most popular. So far the youth all day English pleasure is the largest class, with four other English classes following. There is a horse show committee meeting scheduled for July 30, along with an open ring night. Terri Vrabel wants to order rail raisers to raise poles, and also two types of cones. It was motioned by Pat, seconded by Christina, and approved by the board for her to order these things. Steve will check on ground pole pricing, and the brick oxer jump needs repaired or replaced.

Youth

Clinics are changed to being open to both youth and adult beginner riders. Montie Eagle will again present a clinic on August 29, along with Meg Black in the upper ring. Brent Talbot and Sarah Vrabel will present a clinic on equitation and ring etiquette on July 26.

Christina suggested holding a lunch with various trainers later in the year at Hot Z's Pizza, to be used as a question and answer session. It will be open to all members. Pat reported the insurance company is raising our rates for property liability and hazard insurance. We also need to schedule an appointment to have our concession stand checked. Also, our website is being updated on a regular basis.
