February 19, 2010 Minutes
Columbia Riding Club Board of Directors was called to order by President Brent Talbot on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 7:10 pm at Hot Z's Pizza. Nine board members present included Heather and Mark Anderson, Christina Fry, Pat Hill, Kelley Livelsberger, Amanda Reed, Diane Reese, Brent Talbot, and Steve Vrabel There were also two other members in attendance.
The minutes from the January meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer's Report
Pat gave the treasurer's report, which includes payment for ribbons.
Membership
I reported three received so far, with two more added this evening.
Buildings and Grounds
Steve checks the grounds regularly and reported a lot of snow and not much other change.
Horse Show Committee
Christina is still working on the booklets. The final copies will be ready for the next meeting. Sponsorships are due by March 15. The AQHA novice show has not yet been approved. If it does not get approved, we will replace it with a regular Sunday show. Amanda asked about signing the club up for Mid Penn and after a brief discussion it was decided to do only the SVHSA for this year. We will, however, advertise our shows in the Mid Penn book at a cost of $40 per show. We will also be changing our payback classes this year, specifically the classes which will be payback classes.
Old Business
Clean up dates are set for April 10 & 17, both at 1pm. It is planned to paint the bathrooms at that time. Kelley reported on a silent auction which will be held at the April 24 show. Many nice items have been donated. Heather suggested having a CRC Facebook page to be linked to our website. It was seconded and approved to do this, and Heather will take care of setting it up.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at Hot Z's Pizza.
