The Show Committee makes the final decision on any changes or
disputes that occur during the shows. If a dispute occurs over a
class or placing, the protest must be brought to the attention of a
member of the show committee, show secretary or show steward. Under
no circumstances is an exhibitor or spectator allowed to approach a
judge for any reason without a Show Committee member or show
steward present.
- Youth rider = 17 & under as of January 1 of current
year.
- Adult rider = 18 and over as of January 1 of current year.
- Non-pro = adult (18 & over) amateur riders.
- Beginner = riders who are in their first or second year of
showing in a particular division.
- Children's walk/trot = 12 and under as of January 1 of current
year.
- Leadline = 9 and under as of January 1 of current year. May not
show in any other class.
The judge and show committee have the right to excuse all horses
or riders which present a threat or danger to other horses, riders
and spectators from the class or show grounds and all entry fees
will be forfeited. Good sportsmanship is expected. There shall be
no abusive language or actions to any horse or people at any time,
inside or outside of the show rings. When cases of abuse are
reported, the offender shall receive a
- Written warning for first offense.
- Immediate removal from grounds if a second offense occurs.
- Permanent removal from grounds if there is a third
offense.
Riders must wear proper riding attire. No tank tops, halter tops
or swimsuits. Boots or riding shoes with heels are required. It is
highly recommended that all riders wear safety helmets. It is
mandatory that all junior riders wear protective headgear for
gaming and jumping. Wearing helmets will not penalized in English
or Western pleasure and equitation classes.
All tack changes should be announced to the show committee at
least one class prior to the start of the class. Five minutes will
be allowed for changes. All classes have a one-minute gate call.
After your number or class has been announced, you have one minute
to enter the show ring.
No cantering or loping is allowed along outside rails of show
rings. All schooling of horses is to be done at a reasonable
distance from the show rings. Please leave the gate areas clear for
exhibitors to enter and exit the show rings. No lunging in the
ring.
All entries are assigned one number to each horse. That number
shall be used for the entire year at all CRC series shows. It is
your responsibility to make a new number if misplaced or
damaged.
Youth under the age of 18 as of the current year may not
handle/exhibit a stallion.
There is a $25.00 returned check fee. Anyone previously giving a
bad check for entries will be on a cash only policy for the rest of
the show season. Anyone paying by check and not paying in full at
the time of sign up must leave an open check.
All accounts must be paid in full by the end of each show. There
will be no cash refunds on entries except for cases of illness or
injury or upon cancellation of a class. In case of injury, CRC has
the right to call for medical assistance.
All dogs must be on a leash, tied to an object or person with a
leash no longer than 6 feet and kept away from show rings.
- Please leave aggressive dogs at home.
- Please keep manure on CRC property.
The Columbia Riding Club, its officers and members will not be
responsible for accident, injury or loss of person, livestock or
property. By entering a class, you confirm that you have read these
rules.
