October 8, 2007 Minutes
A regular meeting of the Columbia Riding Club Board of Directors
was called to order by Treasurer Pat Hill at 7:13 p.m. on Monday,
October 8, 2007 at the club. Five board members present included
Steve Vrabel, Pat Hill, Diane Reese, Amanda Reed, and Dick Getz.
President Mark Anderson arrived shortly. There were also four
guests present.
The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved. A
treasurer's report was given by Pat Hill who
reported a present balance of $12,017.08. She also reported bills
were paid for stone for the rings and
Hollinger's for the tractor. Pat reported a net
profit of $1359 for the September 16 show, and a net profit of
around $300 for the hunter show the same day. A net profit of $933
was recorded for the show yesterday. It was motioned to accept the
treasurer's report. Pat also suggested that we
look into purchasing a wireless microphone system so the ringmaster
can also announce.
Grounds
The trash was picked up today. Christina Frey offered to get new
trash drums for next season. Steve reported the tractor is in good
shape with the recent repairs. Stone dust was distributed through
both rings and in the driveway entering the grounds.
Denny is coming tomorrow to drag the center of the lower ring
and put down grass seed. Steve got prices on trees from
Root's Nurseries at $235 each, complete. He
motioned we pay the total of $2,820 to purchase the trees and
Amanda seconded. The motion then passed.
Dick will call the plumber to confirm the check valve
certification and to get a price on having the clubhouse system
shut down for the winter.
